Cette famille paraît ancienne Vogüé où nous la trouvons établie dès le commencement du XVII siècle. Son nom est souvent écrit dans les registres du XVIIème siècle. Jacques, d'un mariage que nous ne connaissons pas, eut: 1° Jean, parrain en 1619, décédé le 26 février 1672 à l'âge de 70 ans; il est dit fils de Jacques et frère de Cerice. Nous ignorons l'origine de cette famille qui nous paraît déjà importante dès l'époque où nous permettent de la suivre les registres paroissiaux de Vogüé. N'est-il pas permis de se demander si elle n'aurait pas une origine commune avec la branche de Cercy et de Tannoy, déjà connue en Languedoc dès le début du XIIIème siècle. Nous apprend que cette maison s'établit plus tard en Picardie et qu'elle revint en Vivarais puis dans le bas Languedoc, en 1440. Ses armes avaient une grande analogie avec celles que nous avons relevées à Vogüé. La branche de Cercy portaient: d'azur, à trois tortues d'or. Une mauvaise lecture d'un graveur n'aurait-elle pas transformé les trois soleils en trois tortues? Philippe, écuyer, fut amené en Languedoc par la guerre; il servit sous les ordres des seigneurs de Tournon et de Joyeuse. ...
