Nobility crown SabadiaAntigua y noble familia originaria de Cataluña. Son sus armas: En campo de gules, una casa de plata, mazonada de sable. Casi todos los autores afirman que este apellido es el mismo de "Abadia", y le atribuyen uno de sus escudos, " dicen algunos autores que este noble linaje procede de Italia y que fue su fundador en España Pedro de A., que, en tiempos del rey don Jaime "el Conquistador", vino del citado país a nuestra patria para asistir a la conquista de Valencia. Esto, sin embargo, no es exacto, pues el linaje A. es anterior en España a los tiempos en que vivió el rey don Jaime, y, por lo tanto, a la llegada a nuestra patria de ese caballero italiano Pedro A.. Y corroborando esto, dicen algunos autorizados tratadistas que los A. proceden de las montañas de Jaca, en Aragón, donde eran muy nobles infanzones, y que el linaje es tan antiguo que alguno de ellos se hallaron con don Pelayo en Covadonga. Esos A. tuvieron también solar en Daroca y en Calatayud, donde fueron naturales y heredados. Así, pues, el caballero Pedro A. no fue el fundador del linaje en España. Por el contrario, él procedía de tal linaje, y lo que hizo en nuestra patria fue fundar la rama de Valencia. Vino, en efecto, de Italia en tiempos del rey don Jaime "el Conquistador", para asistir a la conquista de Valencia, y durante este memorable hecho se distinguió mucho por su esfuerzo y valentía. Venció en singular combate a un famoso moro llamado Babut, quedando el rey don Jaime tan satisfecho de sus servicios, que le hizo merced del lugar de Polop, por cuyo motivo estableció Pedro A. casa solar en Valencia, donde dejó descendientes.
