Nobility crown SalbaLinaje catalán, pasó a Mallorca y al reino de Valencia. En Cataluña tuvo casas en la villa de Berga, de la provincia de Barcelona, y en esta ciudad. Enlazó con los Vilalonga, señores de Estarás; los Vallseca, Vilamari y otras distinguidas familias. Miguel S. fue del Consejo de Su Majestad en el supremo de Aragón y casó con doña Magdalena de Vallgornera y Llupiá, naciendo de esta unión Miguel S., caballero de Santiago, marqués de Vilanant y virrey de Mallorca, que contrajo matrimonio con doña Jerónima Pons de Rajadell, y procrearon a Catalina de S., marquesa de Vilanant, mujer de Bernardo Agustín López de Mendoza y Pons, conde de Robres. La familia S. mallorquina radicó, principalmente, en las villas de Lluchmayor y Sineu, y la antigüedad en ellas de sus casas solares se remontaba a mediados del siglo XIII. Bernardo S., sabio jurista del siglo XIV y teólogo consultor del obispo Villanova, fue arcediano de la catedral de Palma. Onofre S., doctor en ambos Derechos, fue consejero del rey Carlos II y oidor de la Real Audiencia de Mallorca. Miguel S. y Muner, presbítero y caballero de la Orden de Carlos III, era en mediados del pasado siglo, miembro de la Real Academia de la Historia, cronista general del reino de Mallorca y bibliotecario de la reina Isabel II.
