Apellido compuesto iniciado en Cuba a mediados del siglo XIX. Tiene su origen en la unión de los apellidos Santos y Guzmán por matrimonio de don Juan de los Santos, originario de la villa de Pieros (del Ayuntamiento de Cacabelos, partido judicial de Villafranca del Bierzo y provincia de León) y vecino de Sevilla, con doña Antonia de Guzmán, de la Casa de los Duques de Medina Sidonia. La hidalguía de esta familia Santos, leonesa, había sido ganada en la Real Chancillería de Valladolid, en 1696, por don Isidro Francisco de los Santos Ortiz. El citado don Juan de los Santos y su noble esposa doña Antonia de Guzmán, avecindados en Sevilla, como queda dicho, tuvieron este hijo Francisco de los S. Guzmán Ibarra y Ladrón de Guevara, bautizado en Sevilla en el año 1700, en la iglesia de Santa Catalina, que casó en dicha ciudad, parroquia del Salvador, el 4 de Enero de 1724, con doña Gabriela Cabezas Santa María Camargo, naciendo de este enlace José Antonio de los S. Guzmán Cabezas Santa María Ibarra y Ladrón de Guevara, bautizado en la iglesia de San Pedro, de Sevilla, el 24 de Enero de 1729. Muerto en Sevilla el 14 de Mayo de 1808 y en la misma parroquia. Había casado en la parroquia de San Lorenzo, de Sevilla, con doña Manuela Pizaño y Gutiérrez. Hijo de ambos fué José María de los S. Guzmárn y Pizaño, bautizado en Sevilla, en la Iglesia de San Martín, el 9 de Mayo de 1959, y casado con doña Josefa Stoera Moreno Boza y Garzón, en Aracena (Huelva) el 31 de Mayo de 1788. ...
