Esta familia es originaria de Marsella, pero aparece establecida en Mallorca poco después de su conquista por el rey de Aragón don Jaime I, en 1229. Fué su progenitor Berengario S., natural de Marsella, que acompañó a dicho monarca en aquella empresa y quedó heredado en el reparto general de tierras con el real "Abenfarda", de diez yugadas de extensión, en el término de Petra. Sus descendientes, Simón y Bernardo S., hicieron su asiento en la villa de Inca, y como representantes de ella juraron obediencia y vasallaje, en 1286, al rey aragonés don Alfonso III. En los años 1440 y 1451 fué Jurado de la ciudad y reino de Mallorca, Antonio S. Pedro Antonio S. de la Geneta sirvió a Felipe III en sus guerras, mereciendo que ese Monarca le concediese, el 8 de Junio de 1609, privilegio perpetuo de ciudadano militar. Salvador S. era Jurado de Mallorca en 1618. Miguel S., fallecido en 1711, fué Arcediano de la catedral de Palma y gran teólogo. En 1764, cuando la creación de los Cuerpos Provinciales, cuya oficialidad se componía solamente de caballeros, fué nombrado Teniente de Granaderos del segundo batallón de Mallorca. Y el Doctor Pedro Francisco S., teólogo y rector de la parroquia de Campos y luego canónigo de la catedral de Palma por merced de Fernando VII, que quiso así premiarle sus muchos padecimientos durante el régimen constitucional y más principalmente por la parte que tuvo en la sublevación de la villa de Campos en 1823. ...
