Casata di antica e nobile tradizione così come riportano le fonti bibliografiche presenti negli archivi Araldis che confermano le notizie sulla famiglia Avigni che risulta originaria della regione Lombardia ed ebbe dimora certa nel mantovano ove fu ascritta a quella nobiltà. Narrano gli storici che gli Avigni si sono stabiliti a Viadana nel secolo XV. Carlo Guido, avvocato collegiato di Mantova, venne iscritto nel Libro Araldico per decreto 21 luglio 1772 della Deputazione Araldica di Mantova. Con sovrana risoluzione 16 ottobre 1818 la famiglia fu confermata nell'antica nobiltà. Nel 1839 Francesco fu ammesso alla I.R. Accademia Teresiana e fu paggio alla Corte di Vienna. Sono attualmente iscritti nell'Elenco ufficiale col titolo di "nobile" e col trattamento di don e donna. Inoltre dalla lettura del blasone è possibile avere certezza della importanza raggiunta da questa famiglia i cui avi illustri seppero, secoli orsono, innalzare per diritto al rango di nobili. ...
