Nobility crown SerísEste apellido, de origen francés, se inició en Canarias por Don Domingo Serís-Granier y Giraud, nacido el 26 de junio de 1786 en Sox-Fours, departamento del Var, en Francia. Luchó en España con las fuerzas napoleónicas en la Guerra de la Independencia y hecho prisionero después de la batalla de Bailén fue conducido a Tenerife, donde contrajo matrimonio, el 4 de febrero de 1822, don Doña María del Carmen de Figueroa y Linares. De dicho matrimonio nació Don Domingo S.-Granier y Figueroa, que casó en Santa Cruz de Tenerife el 14 de agosto de 1846, con Doña Manuela Blanco y Pestana, madre que fue de Don Emilio, nacido en Santa Cruz el 26 de noviembre de 1846 y que se estableció en Cádiz; Don Imeldo, que nació el 29 de agosto de 1848, VII Marques de Villasegura, Teniente de Navió de la Real Armada, Diputado a Cortes por Tenerife y Senador del Reino por la provincia de Canarias, Jefe de la Casa de Su Majestad la Reina Doña Isabel II y su secretario particular y Gentilhombre de Cámara, etc., etc. Fue uno de los hojos más ilustres que produjo el Archipiélago durante la última centuria y generoso benefactor de la capital que le vio nacer. También fueron hermanos de Don Imeldo, Doña María de la Concepción, Don Domingo y Don Ubaldo S. - Granier y Blanco, todos nacidos en Santa Cruz de Tenerife. El estudio del escudo heráldico familiar nos "habla" de quienes formaron el origen de la familia S., pues esa era su función, la de manifestar a los demás sus elementos diferenciales, pues la inclusión del elemento faja quiere decir que pertenecieron a órdenes militares de caballería. Los esmaltes del arma de los S. pregonan los siguientes valores: el Oro es el símbolo del Sol, origen de la vida, sus características espirituales corresponden a la fé, clemencia, templanza, caridad y justicia, por otra parte dicho esmalte señala a la familia con la felicidad, el amor, la nobleza y el esplendor, es decir, es el más noble de los metales. ...
