Nobility crown SerrabasaEn 1130 vivía Bernardo de S., de la casa establecida en la baylía de Ullestret, de la veguería de Gerona. Los S. tomaron parte en las conquistas de Valencia y Murcia. Mosén Jaime Febrer nombra a Bernardo S., del que dice que tenía sus antiguo solar en Salvatierra, refiriéndose sin duda a la villa de Salvatierra de Escar, del partido judicial de Sos y provincia de Zaragoza. Añade "que en el Puig supo resistir como esforzado español el asalto que dieron los moros a la plaza, y que en Rafelbuñol les hizo una gran matanza. figuraron también los S. entre los conquistadores de la ciudad de Játiva, donde tuvieron los mayores y mejores heredamientos como caballeros nobles, siendo uno de ellos, Arnaldo S., que dejó descendencia en aquella ciudad. Así lo refiere Gaspar Escolano en la segunda parte de sus Décadas de la historia de Valencia, incluyendo en esos descendientes a don Pedro S., doctor en ambos derechos, que fue prepósito de Segorbe, luego Arcediano de Barcelona, después obispo de Catania, en Sicilia y finalmente cardenal del título de Santángel, en 1395, según Panvinio en el libro de los pontífices y cardenales. La familia S. de Mallorca, muy ilustre y principal, aparece también, en opinión de diversos autores, como originaria de Génova, a pesar de que mucho antes de su instalación en aquella isla ya habían alcanzado notoriedad algunos S. en Cataluña y Aragón. Las noticias que se tienen de su progenitor acusan que era natural y procedía de Montpellier (Francia). ...
