Maison illustré par Hyacinthe Serroni, abbé commandataire de La Chaise-Dieu (1672-1687). Né à Rome le 30 août 1617, d'abord dominicain, reçu docteur en théologie en 1644. De bonne heure il s'attacha au Père Michel Mazarin, frère du célèbre cardinal qui, nommé en 1645 archevêque d'Aix en Provence, l'emmena avec lui en France. Serroni fut présenté à la Cour et obtint dès 1647, de Louis XIV, l'évêché d'Orange. Il devint successivement intendant de la marine, évêque de Mende (1661), puis à la mort de François-Marie Mancini, abbé de la Chaise-Dieu (11 octobre 1672). Moréri prétend dans son Grand Dictionnaire historique qu'il fit des libéralités considérables aux religieux de ce monastère. On lui attribue particulièrement l'édification du merveilleux buffet d'orgues où sont sculptées ses armoiries. En 1676, l'église d'Albi ayant été érigée en métropole, le roi le nomma archevêque de cette ville. Il mourut à Paris le 7 janvier 1687. ...
