Linaje aragonés de mucha antigüedad y uno de los más ilustres y destacados en la historia del Reino de Aragón. Solares de S. hubo en las montañas de Jaca, Sobrarbe y Serrablo, de la provincia de Huesca, y se lee que sus progenitores tomaron el apellido de los lugares de Sesé que poseyeron en los valles de Solana y Avena. El primero que figura en los anales de Aragón es Pedro de S., gran privado del Rey Sancho "el Mayor", en el año 1025, según Jerónimo Zurita, y Gobernador de aquel reino. Le sucedió su hijo Juan de S., y a éste, Pedro de S., segundo del nombre, Señor de la villa de Mediana, del partido judicial de Pina (Zaragoza), Justicia de Aragón en el año 1188, Ricohombre y padre de Pedro S., tercero así llamado, Señor de Mediana, Amonacir, Morata y otros lugares y Ricohombre. Sirvió en la Corte y en la conquista de Valencia al Rey aragonés Jaime I, a costa propia, y se halló en la batalla de las Navas de Tolosa. Su hermano, Sancho de S., medió eficazmente para que la villa de Morella quedase para el citado Monarca, dando por ella a Blasco de Alagón las villas de Sástago y María. Mosén Jaime Febrer, Jerónimo Zurita y otros historiadores, mencionan con elogio a esos dos hermanos. Febrer dice que procedían de Zaragoza. Sucedió a Sancho de S. su hijo Pedro de S., cuarto del nombre, Señor de Mediana, Morata, Almonacir y otros lugares, que sirvió a los Reyes Pedro III y Alfonso III de Aragón y asistió a la coronación de Jaime II en Zaragoza. Otra casa muy antigua. Es de origen aragonés. Algunos de sus caballeros fueron Justicias de Aragón. Pasó a Navarra y Guipúzcoa. Son sus armas: De oro, con seis roeles de sable puestos de dos en dos. ...
