En un sello de Simon S., que data del siglo XIV y que se conserva en el Archivo de la catedral de Gerona, figura un escudo fajado de seis piezas, tres de cada esmalte, pero no se aprecian sus esmaltes. J. R. Vila asigna a este apellido este otro blasón: En campo de sinople tres matas de oro arrancadas y puestas en triángulo. Por referencias de historiadores de la época y otras averiguadas por Araldis en los archivos registrales de ciudades y otros privados, podríamos afirmar, pero no asegurar, que este escudo u otro muy similar a él, apareció inicialmente desde el siglo XI al XIV, particularmente en el hecho de las victorias navales de Cabo Orlando (4 de Julio de 1.299) y de Ponza (1.301), formando parte de las tropas de desembarco de los Almogávares.
