Si ricorda un Giovanni Sgobba, preposto della canonica di S.Eufemia in Piacenza, creato da Gregorio X, nel 1274, vescovo di Bobbio; un Giovanni Sgobba e la moglie Barbara Cicala, acquistarono dei beni dell'opera della B.V. dello Stirone nel 1694; questi fu creato nobile (mf.), con privilegio ducale del 5 marzo 1703.
