Da una pergamena del 10 aprile 1208, proveniente dalla Comunità di Pistoia e conservata nell'Archivio di Stato di Firenze, si ricava che i Panciatichi formano una sola agnazione coi Guittonciatici, da cui uscirono i Sigibuldi, famiglia di cui faceva parte messer Cino, legislatore e poeta, onor di Pistoia. E di ciò è conferma lo stemma delle due famiglie, che è identico, salvo l'inversione degli smalti. Il Passerini non lo ha notato, forse perchè non conosceva lo stemma dei Sigibuldi. Tali sono i principii, che da sopracitati Autori si diedero a questa famiglia, ma per esser questo fatto assai remoto, e d'historia molto lontana, lasciamo perciò a più eruditi delle sacre antichità, e dell'historie l'investigarne il suo certo principio.
