Famiglia originaria di Bormio, in Valtellina. Ottenne il titolo di nobile del S.R.I. con diploma 26 giugno 1686 dell'imperatore Leopoldo I, in persona di Giovanni Simoni, dal quale discendono tutti gli attuali iscritti. Nel 1786 un Alberto, di Gio. Battista, di Carlo Giuseppe, quest'ultimo figlio del predetto Giovanni, dimorando allora la famiglia a Milano, chiese il riconoscimento della nobiltà all'I.R.Consiglio di Governo; ma l'istanza non fu accolta perché il diploma del 1686 non era stato interinato a norma dell'art. III, paragrafo primo della Provvidenza sul Regolamento della nobiltà del 29 aprile 1771. Lo stesso Alberto, tuttavia, nel 1817, con Sovrana Risoluzione del 28 genn., ottenne la conferma della nobiltà. Con la stessa Sovrana Risoluzione fu confermata la nobiltà a Tommaso, nipote ex fratre del suddetto Alberto, e ad Andrea, figlio di Antonio Baldassarre, fratello del predetto Tommaso.
