Noblesse du royaume de Naples, établie en Provence au XVème siècle avec Serge, commandant une bande d'Italiens au service du roi René qu'il suivit en Provence. Il s'établit à Apt et la filiation remonte, après lui, à Georges, père de Claude I marié le 10 février 1493 à Costance Aisagui. Divisée de nos jours en deux branches issues de Jean-Baptiste, député de la noblesse aux États de Provence en 1720. A la branche aînée appartiennent: Elzéar, page et gentilhomme de la duchesse de Berry petite-fille de Louis XIV et Esprit comte de Sinety, député de la noblesse aux Etats généraux de 1789, d'où plusieurs rameaux existants à Paris, en Provence et en Bordelais. Un de ses descendants, Arthur vicomte de Sinety, s'est établi en Velay par mariage en 1876 avec Louise Bertrand, dernière représentante d'un rameau de la branche de Farges, d'où postérité fixée au château de Rohac (Haute-Loire). La branche cadette a pour tige: André, page et gentilhomme du duc d'Orléans, maréchal de camp, gouverneur des Enfants de France, etc. seigneur de Lurcy-Lévis en Bourbonnais, terre qui fut érigée en marquisat (1770) pour lui et sa postérité. Celle-ci, qui a hérité des ducs de Brancas-Cereste et des marquis de Monestay de Chazeron, est représentée à Paris par le marquis de Sinety et dans la Haute-Loire par le comte Albert marié à Edith de Miramon-Fargues, d'où plusieurs enfants. Des maréchaux de camp; des pages; des gentilshommes et premiers maîtres d'hôtel de nos princes; nombreux officiers, chevaliers de St-Louis. Admise aux honneurs de la Cour (1778).
