Il 26 settembre 1826 il re Carlo Felice concedeva due diplomi di cavalierato e di nobiltà ai fratelli Efisio Luigi, Antonio, Giovanni e Giuseppe Siotto Pintor, in vista e ricompensa dei meriti del padre loro, già trapassato, Giovanni Maria Siotto Pintor. Il ramo discendente dal senatore Giovanni, come si è detto nella precedente nota biografica, fu iscritto in qualità di nobile nei registri della Consulta Araldica per Decreto Ministeriale il 22 novembre 1877. Al ramo discendente dal predetto don Giuseppe, di Giovanni Maria, furono riconosciuti i titoli di cavaliere (m.), nobile (mf.), e don (mf.) con Decreto Ministeriale 20 luglio 1901 e Regie Lettere Patenti del 24 novembre 1901. Capostipite di questo ramo fu lo stesso don Giuseppe, illustre professore di pandette e di eloquenza latina nella R.Università di Cagliari, dotto giureconsulto e deputato al Parlamento durante la I, II, II e IV legislatura. Quando nella seduta della Camera dei deputati del 22 febbraio 1849, Gioberti, che nel giorno precedente aveva dato le dimissioni da presidente del Consiglio dei ministri, fu violentemente attaccato dai suoi avversari e si tentò di metterlo in stato di accusa, egli solo sorse a difenderlo apertamente ed evitò che avesse luogo un ordine del giorno vituperoso. Lo stesso Gioberti ricorda l'episodio nel Rinnovamento, parlando dell'animo generoso di Giuseppe Siotto Pintor, morto in Cagliari nel 1855. Dal suo matrimonio con Margherita Melis era nato a Cagliari il marzo 1835 il figlio don Luigi, che, entrato in giovane età nella magistratura, assurse, per le sue speciali doti di erudizione, di integrità e di sapienza giuridica, al grado di primo presidente di Corte d'Appello; fu eletto deputato al Parlamento nella XXI legislatura. Fece inoltre parte del Consiglio Superiore delle miniere e della Commissione Araldica Sarda; fu consigliere provinciale e comunale; morì il 13 dicembre 1915. Dal suo matrimonio con la nobile donna Giovanna Siotto, nacque in Sarroch il 3 aprile 1861 il figlio don Giuseppe, laureatosi in giurisprudenza, uomo di adamantina rettitudine e di vasta cultura, chiamato più volte ad esercitare cariche pubbliche, quali quella di presidente del Consiglio provinciale di Cagliari dal 1914 al 1920 e di ...
