La genealogía de este ilustre apellido se remonta a la ciudad de Génova en Italia, donde vivió el Capitán Juan Bautista de S., casado con Doña María de Andrea, que se establecieron en Málaga, donde dieron vida a Jacinto de S., que casó con Doña Bárbara de Brito el 11 de abril de 1619. De este enlace nacieron dos hijos: Don Esteban de S., Caballero de la Orden de Santiago por Real Carta dada en Madrid el 13 de mayo de 1642 y Don Juan Bautista de S. que contrajo nupcias en Málaga, con Doña Magdalena del Hoyo y Marín, el 18 de mayo de 1638. Hijo de éstos fue Don Francisco de S., casado en la misma ciudad, el 8 de enero de 1668, con Doña Sebastiana S., de Arce y Hodilla, que dieron vida a Don Francisco Gregorio de S. Don Francisco casó con Doña Antonia Rico de Rueda el 16 de julio de 1738, siendo hijos de ambos, Don Joaquín de S., Regidor perpetuo de Málaga y Alcalde Gobernador del Castillo de la Pesa, y Don Sebastián de S., Subteniente abanderado del Regimiento de Milicias de dicha Ciudad, que contrajo nupcias el 30 de abril de 1775, con Doña Rosa Gutiérrez Serrano y Villarroel. Nieto de los anteriores fue Don Francisco de S., nacido en Málaga el 17 de octubre de 1806, que casado con Doña María de Casablanca, fue padre de Don Francisco de S., caballero de las Ordenes de Carlo III y de la Beneficencia y Comendador de la de Isabel la Católica, que contrajo matrimonio con Doña Lucía Rodrigo de Vallabriga y Ferrer.
