Linaje valenciano cuya antigüedad se remonta a los tiempos de la conquista por el rey don Jaime I de Aragón de la ciudad y reino de Valencia. El cronista mosén Jaime Febrer, fiel servidor y ahijado de aquel monarca, hace mención de Bernardo S., diciendo: "Vino con gente de Conflent a la conquista de Valencia, y llegó a tan buena ocasión , que con su valor y maña desmoronó la muralla de Burriana, contribuyendo su esfuerzo a que los moros rindiesen la villa.
