Nobility crown SoretLa casa de este apellido radicó en el Valle de Orba, lugar de Olleta, del Ayuntamiento de Leoz y partido de Tafalla (Navarra). Otras casas hubo después en el mismo Valle de Orba, y en Peralta, también en Navarra. Pedro S., vecino de Peralta, y sus hijos Teresa y Santiago S.; José S. y sus hijos Juan Eloy, Cristóbal, Victor y Bárbara S.; Miguel S. y sus hijos Manuel y Antonio S., fueron ampara dos en su nobleza por los Tribunales de Navarra en 1775. Por referencias de historiadores de la época y otras averiguadas por Araldis en los archivos registrales de ciudades y otros privados, podríamos afirmar, pero no asegurar, que este escudo u otro muy similar a él, apareció inicialmente desde el siglo XI al XIV, particularmente en la corte del rey Teobaldo de Champagne, hijo de Blanca de Navarra y sobrino de Sancho el Fuerte, formando parte del servicio personal y guardia privada desde 1234 a 1240. Todo ello parece coincidir con la memoria familiar de algunos de los miembros de la rama de la familia Soret. Son sus armas: Cuartelado: primero y cuarto, un árbol y un jabalí pasante al pie de tronco, y segundo y tercero, dos fajas lisas. El estudio del escudo heráldico familiar nos "habla" de quienes formaron el origen de la familia S., pues esa era su función, la de manifestar a los demás sus elementos diferenciales, pues la inclusión del elemento árbol (roble, pino, ciprés) significa que la nobleza de la familia es antigua y va asociada con la benignidad y la perseverancia, virtudes supuestas de sus componentes.
