Familia de origen francés radicada en Málaga desde el último tercio del siglo XVIII. Proceden de Oloron Sainte-Marie, Bajos Pirineos, obispado del Bearn, donde radican actualmente los miembros de la rama que quedó en Francia y que ha dado numerosos marinos a la armada gala. En cuanto a la rama española su origen y sucesión son los siguientes: Juan de S., natural de Olorón casó hacia 1760 en aquella ciudad con Ana de Saint Agnét de Versillac y tuvieron estos hijos: Pedro de S. de Saint Agnét, que casó con doña Margarita Lamarque, sin sucesión; Marcelo S. de Saint Agnét, que contrajo matrimonio con doña Teresa Lamarque, hermana de la anterior; Juan Pedro S. de Saint Agnét, que sigue; y Pablo S. de Saint Agnét, misionero muerto en olor de santidad en una prisión de China y cuyos restos se hallan sepultados en una misión católica de Se-Tchuen. La lápida fué fotografiada durante un viaje que hizo a Oriente el Teniente de navío francés Juan de S. y dice: "Hic beata mortuorum resurrection expectant ossa Pauli S., presbyt et Parisiesi societ Missioni ad Exteros. Dum at Se Tchuen Sinarum provincia, via ageret pro fide in Canton carcerib. detetus, ibidem, an Dni mdccxvii mensis Maii die xii animan Deo redidit". Juan Pedro S. de Sanit Agnét se trasladó a España en 1790 o 91, huyendo de los sucesos revolucionarios que pusieron en peligro su vida.
