Famiglia oriunda di Somma Lombarda, poi in Vercelli, illustrata dai fratelli Luigi ed Enrico. Luigi (n. Vercelli 15 dicembre 1824; dec. Torino 29 ottobre 1893) fu primo ufficiale del gran Magistero mauriziano, grande ufficiale dell'Ordine, e presidente della Congregazione di Carità di Torino. Creato barone il 26 gennaio 1876, ebbe ampliata, il mese successivo e cioé il 2 marzo 1876, con Decreto di motuproprio, la trasmissibilità del titolo a favore della sua primogenita Rosalia che, sposa dell'ing. Luigi Bologna nel 1886, portò il titolo nella casa d'alleanza. Enrico Sova (nato a Vercelli, 25 novembre 1832), entrato giovanissimo nella carriera diplomatica, fu ministro plenipotenziario a Buenos Aires (1876) e ministro in Baviera (1888); ottenne, nel 1877, uno stemma di cittadinanza e fu creato barone ad personam con R.D. motuproprio 24 gennaio 1892.
