Originaria di Jesolo, fece fabbricare la chiesa di S. Ilario fuori di Venezia. Vari rami familiari di questa casata si sono propagatai in diverse regioni d'Italia, del ramo originario della famiglia non si hanno più notizie dal 1312. Molte famiglie che dimoravano in Venezia appartenevano alla nobiltà. Nel Libro d'Oro della nobiltà veneta e ne il Patriziato Veneto dopo la guerra di Candia e la Serrata del Maggior Consiglio del 1646, eventi questi che lasciarono fama immortale pel grande senno politico e virtù cittadine, troviamo illustre questa famiglia.
