Agostino e della nobile Matilde Corboli, la quale, come ultima di sua famiglia, impose al marito e ai suoi discendenti l'assunzione del cognome ed arma. La famiglia appartiene alla più antica nobiltà di Urbino e ritiene per capostipite un cavalier Staccolo, vivente nel 1200. Godette in patria e fuori molta considerazione ed i suoi membri ricoprirono le più alte cariche compresa quella di gonfaloniere.
