Coroa de nobreza Thunichtgut
Austrian noble family, of clear and ancestral virtue, that, according to some heraldic reconstructions, would be of the same lineage of Thugut barons, whose blazon is described in the valuable work of the genealogist and Dutch heraldist J. B. Rietstap, "Armorial General". According to what has been handed down, in fact, the original name of the family was precisely Thunichtgut, or even Thenitguet, but it was modified by HM Maria Teresa into Thugut. However, we can say that some Thugut, branching in Germany, took back the original surname. Remained unchanged for the Thunichtgut that had already branched outside Austria. The... Continua
most famous member of the family, and the first to be called Thugut, was Johann Amadeus Francis de Paula Freiherr Baron of Thugut (Linz, March 8, 1736 - Vienna, 29 May 1818), the emperor's chancellor of Austria, with the title of "Head of the State Council", from March 1793 to 1800. He was the son of Johann Thunichtgut, army treasurer. For the commitment and loyalty of his father, HM Maria Teresa, when he died, took to heart the fate of his son, allowing him to join the Institute of Oriental Languages of Vienna. From the analysis of colours and symbols of the coat of arms we can have more information about the family virtues. Red is the symbol of strength, power, fervent love for God and neighbour; in heraldry the rose proves the grace, the beauty, the untouched honour, the gentleness of manners, the magnificence, the grandeur of nobility and the merits known; the argent symbolizes purity, tenderness, temperance, mercy, kindness, the desire to win and the talent of eloquence; the stork symbolizes filial piety, as deemed by the Romans and Greeks, that they consecrated to Juno; the black eagle on a gold field is hieroglyph of value and intrepidity; the crescent is a symbol of kindness and good friendship. Family names so old, without any doubt honour not only families but also the cities that welcomed them; seems to be, in fact, very worthy the living members of this family which, with much decorum, carry this noble surname, which has had several illustrious members.
