Con diploma 1719, Francesco di Bergamo veniva investito da Sebastiano Venier e da Pietro Grimani nella soprintendenza alle miniere di metalli preziosi nel territorio bergamasco. Carlo, Infante di Spagna, granduca di Toscana e duca di Parma e Piacenza, con diploma 11 ott. 1733 conferì il titolo di conte, trasmissibile ai discendenti, ai fratelli Antonio e Francesco Foresti, nobili di Bergamo. Il 19 agosto 1768 vennero iscritti nel Libro d'Oro di Venezia il conte Marco Tomani Foresti quondam Antonio, ed i conti Francesco e Lorenzo, figli del conte Marco. Vennero confermati il 16 dic. 1768. Ottenne l'ultimo riconoscimento Francesco quondam Marco nel 1820. Marco pubblicò orazioni accademiche, discorsi intorno alla pittura ed all'agricoltura, della quale espose i principi fisici e chimici in un operetta stampata nel 1792, le rime in tre edizioni 1751, 1778 e 1785 e innumerevoli poesie di occasione, 1741-87.
