Da Tremezzo taluni emigrarono in Germania, ma conservarono rapporti col paese d'origine. Vennero riconosciuti nella nobiltà con decreti ministeriali del 1885,1887,1889 e 1910 e col titolo di "nobile" per mf. figurano nell'Elenco Ufficiale. Motto della famiglia: In fortitudine prudentia Altro ramo. E' ignoto quando dalla Gran Bretagna si stabilisse in Italia. Le memorie più antiche non risalgono al di là del XV secolo, in cui si trova sparsa sulle rive del lago di Como e più particolarmente nella Tremezzina, divisa in moltissimi rami, i quali presero diverso nome dai vari loro possedimenti e dalle alleanze contratte.
