Famiglia fra le più antiche di Venezia; ebbe tribuni e nella serrata del Maggior Consiglio del 1297 rimase fra le patrizie. Ebbe soggetti insigni per valore politico ed ammistrativo. Leonardo, dopo di aver sostenuto con somma virtù la Provveditoria generale della Dalmazia ed Albania, importantissima carica in quei giorni, nel 1647 fu eletto Procuratore di S. Marco e nel 1651 Generalissimo di mare. Aveva palazzo a S.Vio. Alessandro di Daulo Augusto fu confermato nella nobiltà con Sovrana Risoluzione Austriaca 11 novembre 1817 e così pure ebbero la medesima conferma i suoi fratelli Marco e Leonardo e Francesco la ottenne con la Sovrana Risoluzione Austriaca 16 novembre 1817.
