Cette famille alliée aux Rochechouart, Fitz-James et Polignac a pour auteur François-Samuel, époux de Madeleine d'Orange, établi aux Antilles en 1661, colonel des milices du Fort-Royal et capitaine général garde-côtes au département du Croisic, anobli pour services militaires par lettres de 1706, enregistrées au conseil souverain de la Martinique en 1708. La branche de Tréville a produit au dernier siècle deux lieutenants-généraux des armées navales et un chancelier du duc d'Orléans, député aux États-Généraux de 1789, vice-amiral en 1801, mort en 1804, sans postérité. La branche de la Touche-Beauregard qui existe encore, s'est alliée en Bretagne aux Dresnay; la branche de Bonneterre a fait enregistrer ses titres au conseil souverain de la Martinique en 1783. Autre branche de cette famille: Jean, croisé en 1248 (Chartes latines de 1191 à 1249 relatives aux croisés, provenant du cabinet Courtois); mais nous ne savons à quelle famille il appartenait. Robin, marié vers 1312 à Isabeau de l'Estang, père de Robin, qui a continué la branche aînée, de Guillot, partagé à viage par son aîné en 1367, marié à Marie Mainguy, auteur de la branche de Mauny et des Grées, dont un conseiller au parlement en 1777.
