Touriz Sarna, que fundou o mosteiro de Vairão. Foi pai de D. Soeiro Nunes Velho, Rico-homem do Rei D. As mais antigas armas dos Velhos são as que aqui se indicam, mas a Diogo Velho, Fidalgo da Casa dos Reis D.Afonso V e D.João II, atendendo a que descenderia dos reis de França, concedeu o Rei D.Manuel I, em 21.6.1505, Carta de Brasão com estas armas no 1º e 4º dum escudo que no 2º e 3º quartel tinham um campo verde semeado de flores de lis de ouro. O ramo dos Velhos da Ilha de Stª Maria, reduziu as vieiras do escudo a três, usando-as postas duas sobre uma num escudo vermelho, enquanto que os de Viana do Castelo usaram em campo azul, 5 cruzes de ouro, maçanetadas, e chefe do mesmo metal, carregado de um leão de ouro saínte do traço da partição. ...
