Nobility crown VescMaison très distinguée et très riche, illustrée par Etienne, sénéchal de Beaucaire et de Nîmes, premier président à la chambre des comptes de Montpellier, après avoir été valet de chambre, chambellan et favori de Charles VIII qu'il servit utilement dans la conquête du royaume de Naples et qui le combla de biens. Son origine est obscure, mais il se fit reconnaître par l'ancienne maison de Vesc relatée dès 1180, dont il prit les armes, et mit sa famille sur un grand pied. Il laissa d'Anne Courtois: Charles (1511), marié à Antoinette de Clermont-Lodève d'où: Antoine, évêque d'Agde, puis de Valence en 1501, et Jean-Louis, baron de Grimaud, Châteauneuf-de-Mazenc, etc., qui épousa Florie de Bocsozel de Maubec de Montlaur, dame des baronnies de Montlaur, Aubenas, Montbonnet, Mirmande, etc., fille de Louis IV et de Philippe de Balzac. Il moûrut le 28 août 1548 et Florie de Bocsozel, sa veuve, se remaria, en 1551, à Jacques de Raymond-Modène qui devint baron de Montlaur, Montbonnet, etc. Jean-Louis laissa un fils: Fleury, baron de Grimaud, etc., mort après 1553 s. p. de Diane de Clermont-Tonnerre et une fille, Jeanne, alliée à François d'Agoult, baron de Sault, dont le fils fut substitué aux nom et armes de Vesc. ...
