Il più celebre personaggio del casato dei Vesc è stato certamente Étienne de Vesc (ca 1445 – 6 Ottobre 1501), uomo di corte di Luigi XI che ha avuto una fortissima influenza su Carlo VIII e che ha avuto un ruolo di estremo rilievo nell'esperienza francese in Italia nella guerra italiana del 1494, o guerra italiana di Carlo VIII, fase di apertura delle Guerre d'Italia del XVI secolo.
