Nobility crown VianaDebe proceder de la ciudad de V., del partido de Estella (Navarra). En un expediente de pruebas de hidalguía que obra en la Chancillería de Valladolid, del que volveremos a hacer mención, se dice que hubo una casa solar de notoirios hijosdalgo de sangre de infanzona, denominada de Zabala V. en la anteiglesia de Santo Tomás de Olavarrieta que hoy pertenece al Ayuntamiento de Ceberio y partido de Bilbao (Vizcaya). Una rama se apellidó Périz de V. de la mencionada casa procedió Iñigo de V., padre de Lorenzo de V., casado con doña Antonia Martínez a la que hizo madre de Francisco de V., que contrajo matrimonio con doña María de Escota, naciendo de este enlace Francisco de V., y Escota y queb tuvo por esposa a doña Juana Pérez de Anuncita y en ella procreó a Antonio de V. y Pérze de Anuncita, bautizado en Manzoans (Álava), el 14 de Enero de 1665, que celebró su enlace con doña María de Ogueta y fueron padres de Francisco de V. y Ogueta, bautizado en Manzanos el 4 de Febrero de 1699, que casó con doña Catalina Martínez, de la que tuvo a Manuel de V. y Martínez, bautizado en Manzanos el 1 de Abril de 1733 y casado con, María Dominica Ruiz de Mendarozqueta que le hizo madre de Miguel Marcelino de V. y Ruiz, bautizado en Manzanos el 3 de Junio de 1761. Se avecindó en Vitoria, para lo que incoó el expediente de hidalguá¡ía al que nos hemos referido. El 17 de Noviembre de 1794, ganó Real provsión de nobleza. Otra casa muy antigua. Apellido de origen gallego, extendido por la Península. Caballeros de este linaje probaron su nobleza en las Ordenes de Santiago, Calatrava y Carlo III; numerosas veces en la Real Chancillería de Valladolid y en la Real Compañía de Guardias Marinas. Don Francisco Leando V. fue creado Conde de Tepa en 3 de octubre de 1775.
