Los orígenes del noble linaje Vidal, se remontan a Cataluña, Rosellón, Valencia y Mallorca. Procede de Cataluña, Bernardo Vidal, consejero de Jaime I, asistió a la conquista de Valencia. Francisco Vidal y Roca, natural de Valencia, ingresó a finales del siglo XVIII, en la Real Maestranza de Caballería de aquella capital. Pedro Vidal, de Barcelona, asistió a la conquista de Mallorca y le fue asignada, en el repartimiento de la isla, una mitad de la alquería de Beniatí Climusa, en el término de Montuiri. Una línea de esta familia fundó solar en Oriente (Bunyola), desde donde se trasladó a Palma en el siglo XVIII. El rey Sancho I de Mallorca, conde del Rosellón, concedió privilegio de generosidad a Bernardo Vidal, de Perpinyá, el 31 de enero de 1317. Dicho privilegio fue confirmado, en Perpinyá, el 1 de diciembre de 1363 a favor de Arnaldo-Berenguer Vidal, vecino de Foliano de Conflent. Francisco Vidal y Descamps, de Perpinyá, obtuvo privilegio de caballero del Principado de Cataluña, dado por Felipe II, el Poblet, el 15 de abril de 1585. Antonio Vidal, fue agraciado con el privilegio de caballero del principado de Cataluña, librado en Barcelona por el Conde de Aitona, el 22 de febrero de 1581. Francisco Vidal, de Tarragona, obtuvo privilegio de ciudadano honrado de Barcelona, dado por Felipe IV, en Zaragoza, el 9 de julio de 1646. El mismo monarca concedió a Onofre de Vidal, también natural de Tarragona, privilegio de caballero del principado de Cataluña, firmado en Madrid, el 28 de mayo de 1639 y el de noble, dado el 18 de febrero de 1647. Tras el descubrimiento del Nuevo Mundo, muchos fueron los hombres y mujeres que cruzaron el Atlántico en busca de nuevos horizontes y en concreto los que portaron el apellido Vidal, extendieron su linaje por América. Asì pues, tras nuestra investigación realizado en el Archivo General de Indias, encontramos que María Vidal, natural de Salamanca, soltera, hija de Antonio Hernández y Catalina Hernández, viajaron hacia Nueva España el 30 de enero de 1593. ...
