Nobility crown VillateAntique chevalerie. Berceau: la Villate près Pradelles. Un de Villate de Pradelles et Guillaume son fils, sont témoins, l'an 1164, d'une donation faite par le vicomte Héracle de Polignac à l'abbaye de Mazan. On trouve: Guillaume, chanoine de N.-D. du Puy (1203-1210); autre Guillaume, chevalier de l'ordre du Temple du Velay (1216). Un membre de la même maison intervient comme seigneur parier de Pradelles, dans la charte de coutumes octroyée à cette ville en 1269. Peu après, noble Jean, chevalier, cosgr. de Pradelles, rend hommage en 1285 et 1296, de ses fiefs de Rauret, Arquejols, Fraissinet, Jagonnas et d'une partie du château et baronnie de Jonchères. Après lui, nous sont connus: Pierre dit Pétronet son fils, cosgr. de Jonchères, Pradelles, etc. (1304-1328), marié I° à Bermonde d'Agrain, dame du Mas-Hugon, de St-Clément, etc.; 2° à Raimonde Beraud de Pradelles, qui en était veuve en 1328; Pons de Pradelles, fils des précédents, cosgr. de Jonchères, etc., chevalier (1343); Villate de Villate, cosgr. de Pradelles (1340-1360); Gilles, chevalier, seigneur de Jonchères, cosgr. de Pradelles, fils et héritier de Pons (1383-1394); autre Pons, cosgr. de Pradelles (1376); Pierre, damoiseau, cosgr. de Rauret (1384). Branche en Vivarais, éteinte avec Mignonne de Villate, dame de Vallon, Mirabel, Grospierres, marié vers 1380 à Géraud, baron de la Gorce et de Salavas. Antoine, seigneur et baron de Jonchères, frère de Jean, est dit cosgr. des Chazes en 1485. Jacques, seigneur de Belvezer, baron de Jonchères, épousa le 4 luillet 1491, Antonie de Tailhac, dame de Meyronne. Eteinte peu après, par deux filles mariées dans les maisons de Belvezer et de Dorette. Branche bâtarde des seigneuries du Charriol près Javaugues, éteinte au XVIIème siècle. Deux chanoines-comtes de Brioude (1350-1498). ...
