Nobility crown VissacIllustre chevalerie grandement possessionnée sur les confins de l'Auvergne et du Velay. Pons est témoin en 1161, d'une donation faite par un chanoine de Brioude à la léproserie du port de la Bajasse. Pierre était chanoine-comte de Brioude la même année. Pons II seigneur de Vissac (1205-1245); Gaspardseigneur de Vissac (1247); Françoise dame d'Aurouze près Paulhaguet morte en 1286. Pierre, chanoine du Puy, fait une reconnaissance le 7 juin 1268. Etienne seigneur de Vissac, de Vals-le-Chastel, de Murs (1279), épousa Guigonne dame d'Arlanc, héritière de sa maison, d'où entre autres: Pons et Hugues qui formèrent deux branches. Pons, chevalier, fut garant en 1304 de la dot que le comte dauphin d'Auvergne donnait à sa fille en la mariant à Pierre de Montagu. Il fut exécuteur testamentaire de Beraud de Mercœur (1314) et prit part à une expédition en Hainaut en 1316. Ahélis donna en 1397, sa part de la terre de Vissac, à Astorg de Tailhac et à sa femme Alix et à Guillaume de Tailhac. Julienne, dame de Vals-le-Chastel, sétait alliée avant 1382 à François de Tournon seigneur de Contagnet, La Chaize et Volhac. Cette branche s'éteignit par Louis seigneur de Marsat, Fix, etc. marié à Béatrix de Ceyssac dame du Charrouil, d'où deux filles: Dauphine religieuse en 1370 et Marguerite dame du Charrouil, Chadenac, etc. épouse de Raymond de Pruynes. Hugues fut envoyé par le roi en 1312, pour prendre le gouvernement du royaume de Navarre et en ambassade à Rome et en Savoie, en 1314. Il transigea avec l'abbé de la Chaise-Dieu, le 13 août 1333. ...
