Questa famiglia originaria d'Imola fu ascritta al Patriziato nel 1796. Anton Domenico, di Giovanni Agostino, nato nel 1760 e morto nel 1842, fu giureconsulto di bella fama. Per i suoi meriti singolari, il Pontefice Pio VI voleva conferirgli il titolo di conte, ma egli chiese ed ottenne che fosse invece dato al padre suo Giovanni Agostino, affinchè ne potessero godere anche i suoi due fratelli Giovan Battista e Giovan Francesco.
