En Cerdeña, de origen catalán. El catalán Alberto de Satrilla, o Z. pasó a la isla de Cerdeña en 1323. José de Z. y Castellví fue caballero de la Orden de Santiago y su hermano Saturnino lo fue de la de Calatrava. Hijo de este último fue José de Z. y Vico, caballero de la Orden de Alcántara, primer conde de Villasalto, concedido por Carlos II, en 1677, y primer marqués de Villaclara, por Felipe V, el 18 de marzo de 1701. Hijo suyo fue Juan Bautista Z., segundo conde de Villasalto y primer conde de Villasol. Angel Z. y Santjust fue agraciado con el Condado de Cullar, por Felipe II, el 20 de junio de 1594.
