Alonso de Z., natural de la villa de Yebra, Capitán de la Conquista con el General Rejón y fundador de la capilla de San Bartolomé en la Parroquia de Telde, estuvo casado con Catalina Fernández Calvo, y fueron padres de Bartolomé Martín de Z., que casó con Doña María Fernández Calvo. Fue su hijo: Blas Martín de Z., esposo de Doña Mencía de Cabrera y Bethencourt que tuvieron a Doña Catalina de Cabrera Z., bautizada en la Parroquia de San Juan el 15 de junio de 1522, en la ciudad de Telde. Casó Doña Catalina en 1541, con Don Gonzalo de Quintana, hijo segundo del Conquistador Juan de Quintana, nacido en Gádar. El estudio del escudo heráldico familiar nos "habla" de quienes formaron el origen de la familia Z., pues esa era su función, la de manifestar a los demás sus elementos diferenciales, pues la inclusión del elemento palo es la característica de los nobles de origen militar, (Palos) quiere aparentar los palos del "castrum" (campamento).
