Nobility crown DAntica ed assai nobile famiglia napoletana, di chiara ed avita virtù, propagatasi, nel corso dei secoli, in diverse regioni d'Italia. La nobiltà della famiglia discende da un Gaetano Antonio d'Ambrosio (* 1655 + 15-1-1731), il quale comprò il feudo di Crecchio, sub asta, il 15-10-1705 ma la vendita fu invalidata il 7-8-1708, e che concessione della nobiltà il 18-9-1715. Con privilegio del 14 febbraio 1733, questo illustre casato ottenne il titolo di principe, riconfermato con decretazione della Regio Camera della Sommaria il 31 marzo 1762, per il feudo di Marzano. Tra i numerosi possedimenti famigliari, ricordiamo il feudo di Rocca Monfina, in Terra di Lavoro, ed il feudo di Quadri, in Abruzzo. Tal famiglia, inoltre, nel dispiegarsi dei lustri, sempre è riuscita a produrre una serie di uomini che hanno reso illustre il suo nome, nei pubblici impieghi, nelle professioni liberali ed ecclesiastiche e nel servizio militare.
