Nobility crown AbeteCon las diversas denominaciones de Abete, Abet, Aubé, Aubet y D'Auvet, se apellidan en Francia desde muy antiguo, varias familias que proceden en su origen de un mismo tronco, y representan un solo linaje. La variación consistió, únicamente, en haberse establecido sus ramas en provincias que corrompieron la pronunciación, acomodándola al uso popular y menos cultivado. En la Picardía radicó una de esas ramas, de mucha nobleza, con la denominación de Aubé. En la Provenza se estableció otra, llamándose Aubet. En la Normandía creó solar secundario otra, apellidándose Abbé. En las villas de Olerón, Nay, Ortes, Bescat y su capitan Pau, radicó también otra familia del mismo linaje, que se denominó A., procediendo de ella la rama que vino a España, y dió lugar en nuestra patria al apellido A.
