Elle fut importante au XVème siècle au Pouzin, à Privas et à Saint-Symphorien. Michel d'Aygu de Privas vivait en 1487 et Jean en 1488. La 4 octobre 1498 vente d'une terre sise au mandement de Saint-Pierre de Barre, terroir des Merciers, confrontant une terre des vendeurs qui habitent ledit mandement t la paroisse de St-Saturnin de Chomérac, au sauf de nobles Etienne et Claude Charrier père et fils, de Saint-Alban, et d'Antoine et Michel d'Aygu, frères de Privas (Pierre Baudon 1483-1508). 22 juin 1514. Investiture par Franciscus, capitaine et châtelain du Pouzin et de Saint-Pierre de Barre. Nous trouvons en 1670, 15 septembre, une reconnaissance de M. Pierre de Laigue, du lieu et mandement de Devesset. A Steyert, dans une généalogie de cette maison qu'il fait remonter à Falcon, vivant en 1270, lui donne comme ayant fourni deux branches, l'une éteinte au XVIème siècle; la seconde , possessionnée à Lyon dès les premières années du XVIème siècle, et qui à donné un moine à l'Ile Barbe, finit vers la fin du XVIIIème siècle. Rivoir de la Bâtie, Armorial du Dauphiné, donne, sur cette maison, une longue et intéressante généalogie. Une famille du Berry de ce nom porte comme armes: De gueules. à trois fasces ondées d'or. D'après l'abbé Robert de Briançon, une famille d'Aygu, souche de celle de Provence, venue du Berry, portait: Echiqueté d'argent et de gueules. ...
