Cette maison forma divers rameaux. Plusieurs auteurs rattachent aux d'Aleyrac du Vivarais les d'aleyrac barons d'Aigremont qui s'éteignirent le 15 avril 1581, alias le 15 avril 1561 (La Chenaye des Bois), par le mariage de Marguerite avec Thomas de Rochemaure, qui prit le titre de baron d'Aigremont. Une autre branche dite de Faugères s'est éteinte vers la fin du XVIIIème siècle. Nous trouvons des nombreux actes sur cette maison dans toutes les archives de la région. Ella donna plusieurs officiers spérieurs à l'armée, chevalier de Saint-Louis. Jean-Baptiste, capitaine commandant au régiment de languedoc, chevalier de Saint-Louis, prit part à l'élection des députés de la noblesse du Vivarais aux Etats Généraux de 1789. Les d'Aleyrac du Vivarais eurent à souffrir beaucoup des guerres religieuses; leur maison fut incendiée plusieurs fois, pillée et ravagée par les protestants en 1583, tandis que noble Noé, sieur de Colombier et de Chambeson, soutenait contre eux le siège de Cruas, où il était à l'armée du Roi, commandée par le duc de Noailles. Leur généalogie fut dressée d'après le titre conservés au château d'Aigremont et remontant à 1100. D'après La Chenaye des Bois, la branche du Vivarais commence à noble Claude du Colombier, qui épousa demoiselle Jeanne de Mercoyrol, fille de noble Jean de Mercoyrol, seigneur du Pouget en Vivarais et de demoiselle Jeanne de Pavée, milieu du XVIème siècle. ...
