Noble linaje de Guipúzcoa. Dicen López de Haro y otros ilustres autores que la casa torre y solar de Andía está dentro de la villa de Tolosa, y que fué edificada antes que la misma villa. Tiene, por tanto, mucha antigüedad y es fama que gozó siempre de grandes preeminencias. Se asegura que el linaje viene del Conde de Castilla Fernán González. A., en vascuence, quiere decir grande, y grandes y nobles fueron los caballeros poseedores de ese solar. Tienen enterramiento y capilla, bajo la advocación de San Antón, en la iglesia mayor de Tolosa con una capellanía perpetua. A estos caballeros A., por los grandes servicios que prestaron el las guerras, se les hizo merced de lanzas marcantes y de diez mil maravedís de juro perpetuo, como parece por un privilegio rodado del Rey Don Enrique II y confirmado por los Reyes Católicos y sus sucesores. También les fué concedida la Escribanía fiel de Juntas de Guipúzcoa, que desempeñó, entre otros, Menjón González de A., vasallo del Rey. Por escrituras auténticas se tienen datos de la siguiente genealogía de esta casa. Fernán González de Andía, vasallo del Rey, casó con doña Luisa de Butrón, de la que tuvo a Roque González de A., que casó dos veces, siendo su primera esposa doña María Ladrón de Valda, hija del Señor de Valda, en la que procreó a Sancho González de A., que contrajo matrimonio con doña Mayor de Ayala, naciendo de esta unión Gonzalo González de A., que efectuó su enlace con doña Elvira de Verdellari. ...
