Furono aggregati il 19 Febbraio 1627 al Consiglio nobile di Padova, per diritto di successione ebbero sede nel medesimo fino alla sua cessazione, ed ottennero quindi la conferma di loro nobiltà per sovrana risoluzione 24 Novembre 1820. Erano inoltre in possesso del titolo comitale conferito dal Senato Veneto con decreto 24 Agosto 1680. Numerosi autori della famiglia descrissero eventi e personaggi, attribuirono ad essa varie origini senza alcuna valida attestazione. La moderna critica storica ha, sulla scorta sicura dei documenti, fatto ragione delle artificiose ricostruzioni genealogiche di quegli scrittori che, per compiacente spirito d'adulazione, pretesero far discendere questa famiglia da nobili e antiche prosapie come quella di altre famiglie.
