En España hay varias familias que lo llevan, extendidas por diversas regiones; pero el hecho de serles común el apellido no prueba que procedan de un mismo solar y tronco. En Aragón desde principios del siglo XV floreció en Aragón una familia A., de nobles infanzones de aquel reino. Los tratadistas Pedro Vitales y Matías Esteban, dan de ella la siguiente genealogía: Pedro A., primero del nombre, caballero aragonés, prestó grandes servicios al Rey Carlos de Navarra (padre de Doña Blanca, mujer de Don Juan II, Rey de Aragón y de Navarra), y tuvo por hijos a Diego Pérez A., que sigue, y Pedro A., segundo del nombre. Diego Pérez A. fué Alcaide de la villa de Falces (del partido judicial de Tafalla, en la provincia de Navarra), y el mencionado Monarca aragonés Don Juan II le concedió privilegio de infanzonía, dado en Calatayud el 14 de Noviembre de 1461, en premio a los muchos servicios que su padre había prestado al Rey Carlos de Navarra, su suegro. Igual privilegio le fué concedido a su hermano Pedro. El Diego Pérez A. fué padre de Juan A., que casó con doña Juana de Esplugas y vivieron en Zaragoza. Tuvieron los siguientes hijos: Jerónimo A., primero del nombre, que sigue, y Miguel A. Jerónimo A., contrajo matrimonio con doña Juana del Cid. ...
