En lo alto de un monte, frente al puerto de San Sebastián, dice Zazo, estaba la casa de los A., que hoy se llaman Placencia. De ella fué Martín de Placencia A., que ganó provisión de hidalguía en Valladolid en 1635. Casó con doña Catalina Faldierna y pasó a avecindarse al lugar de Pedroso (Logroño), donde, como hijodalgo, le insacularon en los empadronamientos de 1634. En 1642 le reconocieron por hijodalgo. Fué hijo suyo Pedro de Placencia A., que pasó a la villa de Ezcaray, del partido judicial de Nájera (Logroño). Casó con doña Micaela Ibáñez, y fué insaculado en dicha villa como hijodalgo en las elecciones generales mayores de 6 de Febrero de 1683. Fué su hijo José Placencia A., que vivió en Ezcaray y, como su padre, fué insaculado y entró en suertes por el Estado de Nobles en 5 de Marzo de 1687. Casó con doña María Rubio, natural de Pedroso, donde vivieron algún tiempo, y fué su hijo Francisco Placencia A., que vivió en Mansilla (Logroño), y de allí pasó a Mérida (Badajoz), donde gozó de empleos honoríficos. Casó con doña Otilia Ignacia de Robles y Chacón, y fué su hijo José de Placencia A., que se trasladó a Trujillo (Cáceres), y en virtud de Real provisión de nobleza, dada por la Chancillería de Granada en 22 de Diciembre de 1752, fué recibido como caballero hijodalgo en Trujillo e inscripto como tal en los libros en 9 de Enero de 1753. Fué en Trujillo Administrador general de la Renta del Tabaco y Recaudador del Correo de dicha ciudad. ...
