Un Pietro Antonio Turrini spectabilis et eximius legum doctor fu Podestà di Sassuolo nel 1508, e la sua famiglia quivi si trapiantò nel 1522 e prese parte a quelle fazioni favoreggiando quella dei Mari Lei.
