El solar de este apellido radicó en la villa de Bermeo, del partido judicial de Guernica (Vizcaya). Los A. tenían el privilegio de dar a la villa de Bermeo, de cuatro en cuatro años, Justicia y Alcade de su linaje, y todos los años, dos Regidores, gracia que usaron mientras permanecieron en Bermeo. Una de sus ramas se estableció en Busturia, y otra en Mundaca, del mismo partido judicial. Otras ramas salieron para Castilla e Indias.
