Nobility crown BaldacciCette maison tire son nom du village de Baux près Monistrol en Velay, brulé par Lestrange en 1595. On trouve son nom diversement écrit Baud, Baux, Beaux ou Debaux. L. de La Roque dans l'Armorial du Languedoc donne une généalogie de cette famille dont il commence la filiation à Jacques de Baux, seigneur de Baux, père de Raphaël, écuyer, seigneur de Baux et de Boislong, qui épousa, le 4 juin 1540, Claude Pascal. Cette famille contracta des alliances avec celles de Pouzols, de Vergèse, de montrond, de Saignaurd, Giraud, etc. Elle posséda les seigneuries de BAux, de Boistong, d'Arnouc, de La Gorce, de Chaulans, etc. Trois branches de cette maison furent maintenues dans leur noblesse par jugement souverain, du 5 novembre 1669. Pierre Debaux, seigneur de Chaillant ou Chaluans et de Montaliet habitait au château de Chalnans ou Chaillant, paroisse de Saint-Jean-Roure; dans un jugement de Messire de Bezons, du 5 décembre 1669, rendu en faveur de son père Charles, sont cités: le testament de Pierre, fils de Charles-Joseph et de Blanche Guiraud ou Giraud, 14 février 1678. Nous trouvons dès 1309, une famille du nom de Beaux du lieu de Beaux et Boussenac dans le mandement de Pierregourde. Nous avons sur elle de nombreuses notes du commencement du XVIIème siècle. Le 13 février 1636, honneste François de Beaux, fils de Jacques et de Judic Boussenac, du mandement de Pierregourde, épousa honneste fille Magdeleine Juventin, fille de sieur François Juventin, procureur de boffre et de honneste Isabeau Crozat. ...
