Cette maison, originaire du Vivarais. Guillaume vivait en 1430. Pierre-André rendit hommage en 1447, au seigneur de Retourtour; Bernard et Jean le 26fév. 1520. Filiation suivie depuis Bernard,père d'autre Jean qui testa le 7 mars 1573 et épousa Jeanne Gaultier. Deux branches principales dites: I branche de Solignac, qui a pour auteur Pierre (fils de Jean précité et de Jean Gaultier), lieutenant d'une compagnie de cinquante hommes des ordonnances du roi, lequel obtint en 1600 des lettres patentes de noblesse "en rennaissance de ses bons et loyaux services militaires" et s'allia le 15 nov. 1589 à Marie de Chambaud, d'où: Pierre, qui servit avec distinction en Piémont et se fit remarquer par son courage au siège de gênes. Celui-ci fut le père d'Henri, seigneur de Solignac, St-Barthélemy-le-Pin, Valondet, etc., mestre de camp au régiment de Foucaud-Cavalerie, gentilhomme ordinaire de la chambre du roi, allié le 26 mars 1667, à Laurence de Clermont-Montoison. Cette branche s'éteignit le 8 janv. 1688, avec leur fille Françoise, mariée dans la maison de Beaumont-Brison. II° celle de Saignes encore existante, fixée au XIXème siècle en Velay, avecJacques-Alphée, vice-président de la société d'agricolture de cette ville, décédé en 1892, Louis capitaine au régiment de Guise-cavalerie en 1668, mestre de camp et commandant du régiment de St-Agoud.
